Graphics: 5.0

Doom has impressive 3D graphics with id Software’s iconic first-person view. The characters and background are clear and free of any annoying pixelation or motion delays. The detailing on the monsters is particularly impressive and will have you genuinely scared because of how real they look. The developers also made use of dark earthy tones like brown, grey, red and black which are appropriate for the underworld setting of the game.

Gameplay: 5.0

Doom is a first-person shooter video game with a horror survival theme. It is set on both Mars and Hell that are swarming with demons. You control the main protagonist, Doom Slayer, as he fights the monsters. The game gives you access to many awesome weapons that you can use to slash, crush and blow up your enemies.

Unlike many other shooter games, this one is fast-paced and doesn’t allow you to rest up and recharge energy levels. Instead, you can pick power ups off defeated opponents and special locations.

Another goal of the game is to collect numerous treasures all over Hell and Mars. The assets include weapons, new powers, and Praetor Suit upgrades. The best part about this aspect of the gameplay is that it opens up new abilities and subplots that make the game more interesting.

Finally, Doom has an impressive multiplayer. It allows up to 12 players to participate simultaneously with several mode options to choose from.

Controls: 5.0

You can play this game on the Nintendo Switch console among many others. The Switch offers an exciting and engaging gaming experience. It generally makes it a lot more convenient and efficient to control several different aspects of the game than other devices that you can play this game on. Besides the ability to destroy the demons using amazing weapon-based combat sequences, the game allows you to control the character’s different movements. Examples here include impressive jumps and scaling walls.

Replay Value: 5.0

Doom has very high replay value. One reason for this is the presence of numerous subplots encompassing both Mars and Hell. It also features several unlockables including weapons and game levels. The collectible treasures also contribute a lot to this game’s impressive replayability. Finally, the exciting fight scenes and getting to see those ugly creatures reduced to a pile of bones and blood also keep the game interesting even after completing it.

The demons, blood, and fights in Doom are not for the faint-hearted. It is a game you will enjoy if you are not afraid of a little violence and gore. It has impressive graphics that enhance the experience, making it feel like you are indeed fighting in the underworld. The fantastic controls and comprehensive multiplayer support is also something worth appreciating. All in all, this is a great game.
