Rayman 3 Review
The 3rd edition of the Rayman series was released in 2017 for the Wii U platform. It is full of action and adventure with a fantastic storyline that will keep you interested.
The game features average graphics with fairly well-drawn characters and backgrounds. You will note a great use of vibrant color schemes that match the outdoor environments and complement the game’s energy.
Unfortunately, you will have to deal with numerous flaws. One is the game’s unstable motion which gets even shakier when Rayman is jumping from platform to platform. There is also the moderate pixelation on numerous characters and backgrounds.
Rayman 3 has fantastic gameplay. One of the best things about it is the storyline. Rayman’s trouble-prone best friend accidentally swallows a Black Lum. Black Lums are creatures of pure evil hell-bent on taking over the world. Rayman must save his friend’s life by helping find a cure. As he goes about his quest, he meets three doctors with different approaches to assist Rayman’s friend. It is generally an engrossing and well-developed plot that keeps revealing new storylines and secrets as you play.
Rayman 3 has a puzzle platform design with numerous challenges for you to complete. You will be swinging from vines, floating over water on logs and even making daring jumps as you go through different levels. In addition to getting past these obstacles, you have to grab coins you come across. You must collect a specific number of coins in each level, without which you can’t proceed to the next. The hurdles you have to overcome get more complicated as you play later levels.
Rayman 3 for the Wii U platform can be played using several devices. Examples include the GamePad, Remote, Remote Plus, Pro Controllers and Remote + Classic Controller. The GamePad and Pro Controller, in particular, give the best gaming experience with more accuracy during tight maneuvers, including avoiding tricky obstacles and reaching for coins while floating high above the ground. The game is very intense and action-packed, which makes the controls challenging in a good way.
Replay Value: 4.0
This game has high replay value mainly because of the challenging yet entertaining nature of the gameplay. Even when you finish your quest and save your best friend, you will want to play again to see whether you will be able to overcome obstacles as you once did. The coin reward system also increases replay value, especially if you are a stickler for perfect scores. However, the ending remains the same no matter what you do.
This game’s excellent storyline and gameplay options are arguably its best features. There is so much for you to enjoy, from jumping over different obstacles to interacting with both allies and enemies. The 2D graphics are simple and well-designed. However, issues like pixelation and screen glitches negatively impact the overall gaming experience. In spite of these minor drawbacks, Rayman 3 is a fantastic game with a lot to offer.
