Graphics: 3.5

The graphics are typical for the early ‘00s era when this game was released. Thin-looking 3D animation with basic not too saturated colors and simple lines. You can definitely see that the characters, although being from completely different games, have a similar style. The scenes don't look that impressive too but there are a lot of details to them, and they always move in different directions with decent animation.

Gameplay: 5

The biggest flaw of this game that you'll learn from this Super Smash Bros. review is that it doesn't have any tutorial on how to play it. And it's not as intuitive as typical fighting games, well, it's not a typical game at all. Here the map is trying to kill you too, it’s dynamic and moves around and shoots flying deadly stuff at you. It can even be money so watch out for those because they can give an advantage as different boosters and superpowers. The game works perfectly online.

There are different flight modes which include up to 8 people fighting at the same time, all go against each other. You can also fight online also with friends or with random people, and you can also be a spectator. You can fight online for fun or for points. There are several types of tournaments available. You can even create new characters and new locations with different qualities in both of them which is also a very unique and well-thought feature of the game. That's why the game NEEDS a tutorial, it'll help you to begin actually enjoy it much faster.

Controls: 4.5

The fighting button on your Nintendo controller has around 8 different option depending on which button will be pressed with it. There 4 types of super hits and 4 types of defense. You can also super smash opponents which means they’ll fly away through the fighting area edges and will give you the win. You can’t hit random buttons and win here. You have to learn how to fight with different characters because all of them have different abilities.

Replay Value: 4.5

As we said before, there’s no training available in this game, so you have to learn how to fight yourself, and if you’re a newbie, it’ll be difficult to understand how to play the game on the beginning. This alone might repel you from the game, but once you get the hang of it, you'll really like it.

The Bottom Line

You should definitely download Super Smash Bros. if you like fighting games and you want to have fun. This game hits every spot of these criteria. It's dynamic, pretty challenging, and has a multiplayer mode. It's a perfect option for a game night. You can even play it with your children (if they're 10+ years old).
