Tales of Arise to Be Released on September 10
Looking back, it’s hard to believe we already have 16 titles in the Tales series by Bandai Namco, and the seventeenth is to come. The new one named Tales of Arise was announced years ago and planned for release in 2020, but because of the pandemic it was delayed. Now it’s got the date: September 10, 2021 (at least so we hope).
Tales of Arise will tell the story of the medieval Dahna civilization and the modern one named Rena, keeping Dahna almost enslaved. The protagonists come from both civilizations, a Dahna man and a Rena girl, going through adventures together. As usual, Tales of Arise will blend tons of psychology and philosophy with brutal action, magic with technology and science, medieval references with modern lexicon, and all the wild stuff that’s only organic in this sort of fantasy games.
The visuals, on the contrary, will be better than ever. Keeping up the Tales’ traditions, anime-styled, eclectic, and postmodernist, Tales of Arise is the first in the series to utilize Unreal Engine 4. The game will be released for PC and consoles, both the last-gen and the next-gen ones. Fans will argue over the story and maybe the gameplay, but there is no doubt the visuals will surpass the expectations.
