Donkey Kong Comes to Super Nintendo World

Donkey Kong Comes to Super Nintendo World on Blog

A new area with the beloved Donkey Kong game will be opened in the Super Nintendo World. Although there were rumors about the extension to the theme park in Osaka, this is the first time Nintendo has officially acknowledged their plan. The Japanese department of the Universal Studios’ park in Osaka welcomes another classic game.

Nintendo released a picture of the park with a zone for Donkey Kong fans. To access the area, you will have to go through the large round central door. You have probably seen those in photos from the park. For now, Super Nintendo World is mainly dedicated to the Super Mario Bros. Nintendo says that the new zone will extend the territory by 70 percent.

Inside the New Zone

According to Nintendo’s statement, the new area will offer a roller coaster, a food zone, a wide range of interactive attractions and stores. Guests of the park will be able to visit Donkey Kong and his pals in the jungles, his natural habitat. Nintendo claims that the new area will combine modern technologies and classic theme park’s experiences.

Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s creator of Mario and Donkey Kong, said that he is thrilled to release the characters in reality. He collaborates with Universal Studio to provide a new experience to the audience. He said that the new location would be interesting and entertaining not only to the fans of these games but to all the guests.

The area will be opened in 2024. Let’s hope that by this time, Covid-19 will be gone, and everyone will be able to travel to Japan. For now, you can visit Nintendo-inspired parks in Hollywood, Orlando, and Singapore.

If you have been to one of these parks, please tell more about your experience in the comments. If you are only planning to visit these parks, tell us why you want to go there? Which theme parks are your favorite?
