What to expect from the new Super Mario Maker 2?
Super Mario Maker 2 is a set of tools for creating levels in Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 3D World, and the New Super Mario Bros. U. The first part of the sandbox came out in September 2015. After an overwhelming effect of the Super Mario Maker, Nintendo has plunged into work on the second part of the game and finally, we know what we have waited for.
Super Mario Maker 2 will be released on June 28, 2019. The edition will be presented in several versions. In addition to the game itself, it will contain a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for 12 months, a stylus book and a thematically designed digital Switch pen, which will simplify the creation of levels during manual editing. Pre-order of the Super Mario Maker 2 is available on Nintendo eShop.
A recent Nintendo Direct has shown us new gameplay elements for Super Mario Maker 2, and this edition has more cool stuff than its predecessor. One of the greatest additions is online multiplayer. In fact, there are different online multiplayer modes available, including:
- Multiplayer Versus.
In this mode, you compete with others to complete the level first;
- Multiplayer Co-op.
This mode requires a collective work to complete the level;
- Local play mode.
This mode allows playing with friends who also have a copy of the game.
Like it was in the first Super Mario Maker, players can save and share their levels with others.
If you are more into creating than playing, there is a whole new bunch of tools and assets for you to use. You can build new courses using elements from Super Mario World 3D, new themes (forest, snow, desert, etc.) that affect the game performance, custom scrolling levels, a single player story mode, and a brand new night mode that changes the way some objects in levels work.
Super Mario Maker 2 takes game creating on a whole new level. Basically, it’s a drag-and-drop game where you play while building. The upcoming edition includes a lot of customizing items and details that will make your courses look great.
Things that will bring you more fun in Super Mario Maker 2 are:
To create a slope, simply select the direction and set the length.
- Angry Sun;
Remember it attacked Mario in Super Mario Bros. 3? In the new game, it shines bright and evil again!
When you click on it, all the blue and red blocks at the level will be swapped. Having them in your custom level will make players solve ingenious puzzles.
- Banzai Bill;
The red version of the classic villain from Super Mario.
This is still Mario but in cat form. He can climb walls as well as scratch and flatten enemies.
