It quite hard to imagine someone born in 90-s and early 2000-s, who never played Sims series. This life simulator is one of a kind, and it’s impossible to outshine it. Sims 3 downloading is available for PC, XBOX 360 and Nintendo DS/3DS/Wii.
Sims series has never pretended to impress players with visuals or realistic physics. It’s a life simulator, which includes some very unrealistic scenarios. It’s mustn’t overwhelm you with details or something. Sims is about having fun. Only. Developers stuck to this idea in 2000, when they released original SIms, and they won’t change their approach in decades. And it’s awesome! Sims character design, user interface and slightly cartoonish style of surroundings are 100% up to the place.
As I’ve already mentioned in my Sims 3 review title - “Ooh be Gah!”. It means “Very good” in Simlish. In fact, It’s my short opinion about Sims 3. It’s not the latest part of the game series, but it’s definitely the most versatile one. What can you do in Sims 3? Oh, so many things! First of all, you can create your unique characters and dress them any way you want. Then you can rent, buy or build a house for your sims and find them jobs, which match their nature (that is also adjustable). Most users create self-like sims to embody some of their dreams virtually. Perhaps, it’s a secret of Sims 3 extreme worldwide popularity. You can make friends, make love, go shopping, travel, party, meet mystical stuff, give birth to children and bring them up, go through all stages of human life and become a ghost (or a vampire)! It’s only a short preview list of thing you can do in this unbelievable game.
To become fluent in Sims 3 controls you’d better spend some time clicking around and watching what happens. It has so many unobvious commands and sim abilities, that your head may explode. Talking about actual input, you can play only with your PC mouse as all basic commands are depicted or use mouse + keyboard shortcuts. The second way is the fastest. Gamepad controls on Wii or XBOX leave much to be desired, but it’s possible to get accustomed.
Replay Value: 5
Sims 3 is fairly endless. Each character has quite a long life circle, but it’s not long enough to allow you to try every feature. That’s why Sims 3 is such a game you want to return to time after time. Sometimes you have fun with some ugly bastards, sometimes you try to live the life of an exemplary citizen. Everything depends on your age, mood and sex, but replayability is very high.
The Bottom Line
Sims 3 is worth playing for many reasons. It’s a remarkable page of game industry development, it’s a good example of an old-but-popular game, it’s the best life simulator ever, it’s hilarious and serious at the same time, affection to characters is very powerful, and you can make them whatever you want. With all of the DLCs, which have been released since 2009, you can experience a brand new world of virtual entertainment.
If you’ve never played Sims before Sims 3 is the best part to start from. If you love Sims, download Sims 3 to have some more fun and, maybe, pleasant nostalgy..
