Professional Review

Tap Tap Arcade is a compilation of 2 of the most popular arcade games from RCMADIAX. Here is a bit more on what to expect from the 2016 Wii U version.

Graphics: 3.0

The graphics on Tap Tap Arcade are good but not in any way outstanding. It features simple 2-dimensional images with precise detailing. The screen layout is also nice, with the props in the background well distributed throughout the screen. Another good thing about the graphics is the high quality and delay-free animation. This comes in particularly handy with the DON’T CRASH mode of the game where speed and fluid motion matter most.

Gameplay: 4.0

Tap Tap Arcade has simple yet highly entertaining gameplay. You have two mini-games to choose from. The first is known as DON’T CRASH. It is a high-speed challenge set on a two-lane track. Your aim here is to avoid colliding with the second vehicle moving in the opposite direction. You do this by quickly changing lanes whenever the second car takes your path. The game has a performance rating system where you earn points every time you complete a lap without crashing. You could also get extra points by swerving to avoid the second car at the very last second.

The second option is referred to as SPIKEY WALLS. It is without a doubt the more challenging of the two games. You control a little bird as it tries to make its way through a series of spikes. It requires you to know exactly when to jump and when to let the bird glide through the openings on the way down.

Controls: 2.5

The controls for Tap Tap Arcade are the most disappointing thing about the game. The 2016 release was designed for the Wii U GamePad. However, the limited control options mean that you will not get to exploit the full device's potential. In fact, the entire game revolves around the A button on the console. You will keep tapping this to make your little bird character jump or switch lanes to avoid crashing your car.

Replay Value: 5.0

Despite the unsatisfactory controls, this game has excellent replay value. The main reason for this is the absence of level limitations. You get to play as long as you wish granted that your bird is still alive and your vehicle hasn’t crashed. You will want to keep playing over and over to see how far you can get. The rewarding performance system also increases the game’s replayability significantly.

Tap Tap Arcade may be a simple game, but it is super entertaining. Who knew single touch controls could be so intense and fun? The gameplay with both mini challenges is pretty straightforward, and you do not have to bother yourself with complicated rules or twisted plots. It is also awesome in that it allows you to share your achievements and high scores with your friends on the Miiverse platform.

This video game compilation is a great investment that you will most likely end up getting addicted to.
