Professional Review

Kirby: Triple Delux is a fun and unique platform puzzle game. The game’s remarkable background, variable gameplay options, and interactive controls make it one of the best Kirby series releases.

Graphics: 4.0

The graphics on Kirby: Triple Deluxe are pretty good but not outstanding. It has a 3D design with highly detailed backgrounds and characters. The animation on Kirby and other characters is also done very well, with great detailing and variable color schemes based on the level. The only let down, in this case, is the significant pixelation which, although not overwhelming, still affects the graphics quality.

Gameplay: 4.5

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is a platform game that follows the adventures of Kirby, the fluffy pink hero. He sets out on a quest through a strange new land to rescue King Dedede. The plot is full of twists and surprises that you will uncover as you go through different parts of the game.

The platforms are available in 2 plains. The game allows you to jump from either plane using special stars you collect on your run. This design complements the 3D graphics beautifully.

The obstacles and puzzles are not particularly challenging. The main reason for this is Kirby’s diverse abilities. He can use his Hypernova inhaling power to either swallow and steal an opponent’s abilities or move large objects. The game also reintroduced some of the iconic character’s original skills, including Archer, Beetle, Sword and Fire modes.

You can play Kirby: Triple Deluxe in either single or multiplayer mode. Multiplayer setting allows up to 4 participants and includes a special Kirby Fighter’s mini-game.

Controls: 4.0

The 3DS makes the controls efficient and very easy to execute. It doesn't matter whether you are solving platform puzzles or fighting a level boss. It is a very engaging game that will have you pressing buttons furiously to keep Kirby going. The game also offers a wide variety of combat options. You could either choose to use your Kirby’s powers or steal your rivals’ abilities by using different controller pads.

Replay Value: 5.0

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is a game that you will want to play over and over again despite it not being so hard, mainly because it has numerous alternative endings. Once you beat the game, an optional closing scene is provided with a different storyline you will want to explore. The game’s multiple unlockables and collectibles also contribute to the high replay value. The collectibles include keychains with iconic Kirby characters.

Conclusion

Kirby: Triple Deluxe might not be the most challenging platform game out there, but it’s still impressive. The graphics, in particular, ensure that your gaming experience is enjoyable. The gameplay also has a lot to offer, with Kirby’s expanded abilities and availability of bonus modes making the game worth buying. You, therefore, need to be ready to deal with simple obstacles and easy-to-defeat enemies to enjoy what the game brings to the table.

Conclusion

This edition offers the best from this series with Kirby’s old school abilities combined with modern, high-quality graphics and controls.
