Roblox is not just a game, it’s more like a giant community with more than 50 million of players creating their own playable worlds. Download Roblox and join the fun.
Like many other games in the sandbox genre, Roblox isn’t very impressive visually. The worlds players create here usually consist of huge untextured blocks, and almost everything looks like it’s work in progress. But the game isn’t about nice graphics, as it focuses on creativity, gameplay diversity and communication instead. By the way, you will probably stop paying attention to the simplistic graphics after a few hours in-game.
The characters are as schematic as everything else, but there are a lot of options to customize them. In addition, the Xbox One version has some exclusive costumes for your avatar to wear. The physics here are realistic, but a bit strange, and that adds some comical charm to the game. Anyway, they are adaptable to a lot of different games, and that is the only important thing, after all.
Roblox is a huge social platform that features thousands of completely different games made by other players, so you don’t have to create anything on your own if you don’t feel like it. Create an avatar and choose a game to play, and you will be immediately spawned in what can be a race, a battle between two flying ships, or even a simulator of being flushed down a toilet.
You can filter the game catalogue by popularity so you won’t play some obscure game alone, and that is great, because Roblox is centred around communication, after all. This freedom of choice, as well as the community, are what make the game so great. But don’t forget that its main audience is around twelve years old, and many adults may feel like most of the games in Roblox are no more than just home-made versions of real games.
Controls are quite intuitive, especially in other players’ games, and you can learn to play any of those games very fast. However, when it comes to creating your own worlds, that’s where controller becomes a bit bulky, but not in a way that seriously prevents creating something on your own. The avatars may feel a little awkward too, although that fits somewhat comical style of Roblox creations.
Replay Value: 3
The replay value of Roblox depends on whether you like it or not. If you are really into the games, especially if you like to create something on your own, Roblox can offer you many hours of fun. But if you don’t really like the community, the replay value will be pretty low, as the platform will become boring after a few gaming sessions.
In any case, Roblox review must take into account that the game is mostly meant for kids. So give it a try, and if you don’t like it that much, recommend it to your children. They’ll surely love it.
