Professional Review

Just Dance® 2018 is a game where you can learn how to dance and have a nice workout at the same time. Pick and choose your favorite licensed music, pick up to 6 friends and dance together until you sweat!

You can download Just Dance® 2018 for Nintendo Switch, Wii, Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Graphics: 3.5

The graphics are pretty underwhelming here. There are contrast colors, mostly blue and yellow with too bright highlights which can irritate your eyes. The dancing characters have no faces and wear professional dancers’ or funny animals costumes. It’s great though that they’re real humans, which gives you a better sense of how you should move. There's a lot of fun, sometimes destructive, effects and animation.

Gameplay: 5

The new feature in this series of Just Dance games is the kid's mode which gives you slightly easier but more colorful dance routines. It doesn't give you any scores or your performance feedback in this case. Everything else is pretty the same as in previous versions of Just Dance. You have here real people who dance and the cartoon dance schemes on the bottom of the screen which often don't look like the real moves.

There's an interesting twist to the game like a vending machine which can unlock a new avatar for you or a new game mode like Dance Lab for mojo coins which you get for dancing, of course. It's not much in regards to the next level game experience, but it is something.

Controls: 5

The controls pretty much depend on the platform you're playing. In this Just Dance® 2018 review, we'll talk about Nintendo Switch. You have to hold the controllers as instructed and make sure to use a strap; otherwise you might throw the controller away. It's pretty simple to dance with the Switch thanks to the gloves on the dancing characters in the game. And it's not tough to get higher scores which in our opinion is better because this game is more for fun, less for dance learning.

Replay Value: 5

It's a great game for friends or family get-togethers. You can play it with children or with your drunk 30-year-old homeboys, you'll have fun in either case. It's colorful, bright and has a lot of tunes to choose from. You can even dance to some of the songs from the previous series of the game.

The Bottom Line

If you've downloaded Just Dance® 2018, you'll enjoy it because this game is a good dance routine with pure silliness combination. The dance lab mode isn't impressive enough where you just mix different dance styles with no song in particular, but the regular dancing mode is great.

This game is great, but if you have a previous version of Just Dance game, you should stick to that one because it's unlimited and 2018 version has only 40 new tracks and with 3 months trial.

Pros : This version doesn't have redundant options like before and you actually JUST dance here;
The hottest tracks of 2018 added;
It is easy to understand and fun to play this game.

Cons : Not great and pretty flat graphics;
Not a lot of new songs and features in the game;
The peopleā€™s movements in the game donā€™t match the scheme movements.
