Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D platform video game that was developed and published by Nintendo in October 2017. The video game is supported on the Nintendo and Nintendo Switch platforms as of current.
Players have remarked that the graphics are quite good. The overall interface has been described as simple and non-distracting, and that the worlds have been brilliantly created. Nintendo has paid attention to the finer details in the game such as the effects of Mario swimming in water or walking through smoke, which makes the gaming experience that much more satisfying.
Unlike other Mario video games in the series, Super Mario Odyssey implements a sandbox style of gameplay. The plot revolves around the classic tale in most Mario video games; the evil Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach and intends to marry her. It is Mario’s goal to seek her out and rescue her.
In Super Mario Odyssey, Mario’s cap is possessed by a spirit named Cappy, plunging Mario into an adventure to sail across worlds on his hat-shaped ship, Odyssey, in the conquest of the Princess. The worlds that Mario must explore are known as kingdoms and are designed to be either fantastical or strikingly realistic. Mario is up against a line of objectives to complete in each world, which gives him access to Power Moons, items that unlock more worlds for him to venture out into. Super Mario Odyssey enables players to throw Mario’s cap, Cappy, to attack enemies.
The controls given below are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch motion controller.

Replay Value: 5
Since the game has received so many positive reactions, it is undoubted that its replay value is high. The endless number of discoverable Power Moons – hidden away in the smallest nooks and crannies of worlds and levels – is making gamers wonder exactly how much dedication and depth have gone into creating Super Mario Odyssey.
Super Mario Odyssey sold two million copies within the first three days of release. Several of its players have stated that it is the greatest video game of the Mario series to have ever been released. The crushing majority of the critique that the game has received is positive, and gamers are in throes of joy from delving into the adventurous labyrinth of Mario’s world.
Super Mario Odyssey has been a huge success and has unfailingly met the expectations of loyal Mario fans all over the world. The game makes for an everlasting experience of fun and entertainment.
Pros : The game has an outstanding gameplay
Great and memorable soundtrack
The frequency of Power Moons is unlimited
Cons : It is quite evident that Nintendo Switch wants players to play using the motion controller, which is inconvenient for loyal players who have used normal controllers to play the games from the series up until this point.
The design has also been criticised for being all over the place and inconsistent
Replay Value 5.0
