Nintendo brought back the classic videogame with every gamer’s all-time favourite character for the Wii U in 2015. Originally published and developed by Nintendo in 1996, Super Mario 64 features the famed Italian plumber on yet another adventure to save Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser.
The Wii U version of Super Mario 64 undoubtedly has upgraded graphics from its original version. The colours are brighter and clearer, and the animation has been done impeccably. Most players have noted the vast improvement in graphics in this game, and comment upon how they still retain the original version’s charm.
Super Mario 64 is set inside Princess Peach’s castle, which Mario finds deserted. Leaping into paintings hanging on the walls, Mario launches himself through the portals into different worlds. Mario must collect the power stars that Bowser has stolen to unlock more and more rooms in order to find the princess, and then defeat the boss and save her!
The player controls Mario and moves him through worlds packed with action, power stars, and villains, with the primary goal of rescuing Princess Peach. To achieve the primary goal, the player must pilot Mario through obstacle courses while collecting coins, warding off villains, interacting with other characters, and gathering power stars and power-ups that give him special abilities.
